- Adoption Reunion Registry - The Louisiana Adoption Reunion Registry is a registry established by DSS to serve adult adoptees over the age of 18 and birth parents of adopted adults. If both the adoptee and one birth parent register a "match" between the adoptee and birth parents may result in a reunion. Those seeking to find adopted siblings may also register.
- Adoption Service - The OCS Adoption Program seeks adoptive home placement of children who are in DSS custody and are legally free for adoption.
- Child Care Assistance - Provides assistance to parents to help pay for the child care they need to work or attend school or training.
- Disability Determination Services - Provides benefits to disabled individuals under Title II (Disability Insurance Benefits) and Title XVI (Supplemental Security Income).
- Food Stamp Program - Provides monthly benefits that help low income households buy the food they need for good health.
- Foster Care Services - Case management and counseling services are provided to families in situations in which an allegation of child neglect and/or abuse has been validated, but the child remains with the family while the services are provided.
- Head Start Collaboration - Designed to increase effective linkage between Head Start Grantees and State agencies and includes the principle of serving the whole family as the key strategy for improving developmental, social and economic conditions for low-income children.
- Kinship Care - Provides cash assistance for eligible children who reside with qualified relatives other than parents.
- Licensing - Licenses and develops licensing regulations for child care and adult care centers.
- LIFTS
A series of initiatives to strengthen families and to ensure children safe, permanent solutions.
- Safe Haven
 - An avenue in which a parent can anonymously and safely relinquish their unharmed infant to an employee at a designated emergency care facility. By placing the infant in the hands of an employee at a safe haven, the parent is in essence voluntarily relinquishing his or her parental rights to the child for the ultimate purpose of adoption. This law gives parents a mechanism to safely and anonymously relinquish the care of their newborn to the state without fear of prosecution.
- Support Enforcement Services - Places the primary responsibility for support of children on their non-custodial parent(s) in an attempt to reduce the children's dependence on public assistance.
