  WE SERVE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
     
 
  • Blind Services - provides services to eligible individuals who are blind or visually impaired.  The Randolph-Sheppard Business Enterprise Program and the Older Blind/Visually Impaired Program are parts of Blind Services.

  • Disability Determination Services - Provides benefits to disabled individuals under Title II (Disability Insurance Benefits) and Title XVI (Supplemental Security Income).
  • Find Services/Resources
    An online system which emcompasses the following:

    • allows you to determine your potential eligibility for DSS services
    • provides a central resource directory for Louisiana’s 211 agencies (United Way) and DSS  resources and providers so that you can find a specific resource or service to meet your needs within a specified area.
    • allows you to request an appointment with participating DSS agencies.
    • provides information on becoming a Foster Care/Adoptive Parent
    • provides information on reporting Child Abuse or Neglect
    • provides information on how to list your Agency in the DSS Resource Directory 
  • Independent Living - Independent Living (IL) services are those services that enable an individual with a significant disability to function independently in the family or the community.
  • Louisiana Commission for the Deaf - Organized in 1980 to insure that Louisiana's public and private services are accessible to deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing, and speech impaired citizens.
