Nine-year-old Loves Watching Hannah Montana

Shatora enjoys slumber parties and watching the Disney channel.
Shatora is a nine-year-old who has beautiful eyes and a gripping smile. She enjoys riding her bike and playing outdoors. She has no problem making friends, as she likes just hanging out with the friends she already has, and participating in slumber parties at her friends' house. When watching television, Shatora's favorite shows are on the Disney channel and Nick Jr. She is a fan of Hannah Montana, and enjoys watching the movie she starred in, in 2009.

In many ways, Shatora does not differ from the typical nine-year-old, as she, like many of them, considers pizza, hamburgers and Church's chicken her favorite foods, and detests foods like asparagus. However, Shatora's experiences differ from most children her age in that she has experienced unwarranted abuse and neglect. Because of her experiences, Shatora will need a family that will help her to develop social skills that will assist her in interacting with others more appropriately. In the past, Shatora struggled with issues associated with abuse and neglect, but she is currently receiving therapy to help her to overcome those issues. The adults in Shatora's life maintain that she is making progress by leaps and bounds!

Shatora needs a family that will provide a loving, structured environment. She is better able to problem solve when the voices around her are calm and assertive. If your family possesses the patience to help Shatora reach her potential, you should not wait another moment to inquire about becoming her forever family.

For additional information about Shatora, or other children in need of adoption, call the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services at 1 (800) 259-3428.  If you are interested in providing a safe and stable home for a child who needs one, please call today or visit www.dcfs.louisiana.gov.
