Third Grader Loves Reading and Visiting the Park

Johnathan enjoys visits to the park, playing outside, blowing whistles and playing with toys.
Johnathan is a friendly and likable child with light hair and blue eyes. This 8-year-old loves reading and being read to.  His favorite activities include visits to the park, playing outside, blowing whistles and playing with toys. Johnathan is in the third grade and enrolled in special education classes.  Due to the many challenges Johnathan faces developmentally, he needs a family that will help him to focus on improving his social and communication skills.  Despite his need for some help in those areas, Johnathan plays well with his peers and would get along well with other children in the same family.

Johnathan is not hard to please as long as he is allowed outdoors to enjoy the sun and friends.  Johnathan, like most children his age, enjoys occasional trips to McDonald's and other fast food restaurants when he has done something worth a little treat.  He appreciates being made to feel like he is special by rewards given to him for good behavior.  Johnathan needs a dedicated, resourceful and supportive family that is full of unconditional love.  With some encouragement, Johnathan is capable of soaring to heights unknown.

For additional information about Johnathan, or other children in need of adoption, call the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services at 1 (800) 259-3428.  If you are interested in providing a safe and stable home for a child who needs one, please call today or visit www.dcfs.louisiana.gov.
