COVID-19 - How to Contact DCFS

The Department of Children and Family Services is currently open, but we are not accepting visitors at any of our office locations at this time. DCFS instituted 100% remote work in its Orleans Region offices, and transitioned to reduced workforce on-site in other offices statewide. During this difficult period, we are committed to continuing to provide the services you rely on, although how we do that is changing.

We will immediately provide information regarding changes to our service delivery methods as they occur on this website. For now, because much of our staff is working remotely, we ask that you limit your inquiries to only those that require immediate attention. If necessary, you can contact us in one of the following ways:

  • P. O. Box 3776
    Baton Rouge, LA 70821
  • Child Abuse or Neglect Hotline: 1-855-452-5437
